KING CITY overview

King Township, often referred to as a “community of communities,” is known for its idyllic countryside and community lifestyles.

King City is the largest neighbourhood in King Township. This is where the King Township municipal offices are located as well as the King Cultural and Heritage Centre and the King Museum. King City is centred at King Road and Keele Street. Heritage homes line the main streets adding charm and character to the neighbourhood. Neighbourhood amenities include a hockey arena, community hall, seniors centre, public library and a large sports park. King City is situated within the Humber River watershed and thus much of this area is protected conservation lands that provide numerous outdoor recreational opportunities along the King City Trails.

You can visit Holland Marsh Wineries, spend the day at enjoying the delicacy of Ice Wine, Handcrafted Specialty Cocktails, Cheese Tasting, and Outdoor Vineyard Tour.

Olde Mill Art Gallery and Shoppe

Experience the creations of eight talented artists, as they display their work surrounded by the ambiance of the historic Feed Mill in the heart of Schomberg.

King Township has wonderful birdwatching opportunities all over the Township.  One place in particular where there is spectacular birdwatching is in Schomberg.  You can make a day of it with visits to a migratory pond and the Dufferin March, and top it off with a gourmet coffee or terrific meal.

King City offers high ranking public and private schools in the area.

King Campus of famous Seneca College is located in a natural setting of 282 hectares (697 acres) of woods, lake and fields. It is home to full and part-time programs in applied arts and health sciences.

One of the most striking and historically significant features of King Campus is Eaton Hall, the former summer home of the Eaton Family, which sits on the shores of Lake Seneca.

The Go Train runs through the middle of King City making this neighbourhood an ideal choice for commuters. Highway 400 forms the western border of this neighbourhood. This commuter highway provides a convenient option for those travelling to the City of Toronto or north to Barrie and cottage country.
